Summer

There are always a few fashion cliches that are nice on its own but finds it hard to style and not know what to pair with.
Inspired by well known Taylor Swift and from photo shoot from a famous brand, I created two outfits.
One is knee high socks.
Most people think we can only sport the "school girl look" with knee high socks.
Tip: pair knee high socks with a pair of humble heels

Last day

Today was the last day of creative thinking.
Ms Khim got us to design a watch for one of our classmates to test us how well have we know each other for the last 10 weeks.
I immediately thought of Hazel.
I didn't speak to her till much later but we immediately clicked due to both being fans of the same idol and interest for the same movies.
I went to search for example from Swatch and like te simple designs and thought it would be suitable for that classmate.

In reference to day at nafa fun day, I decided to tweak the lyrics of one of her favourite songs to incorporate to that event.
Idea for background.

Then I thought of the strap color, her favourite color and in reference to the soft colors I found researching earlier.

Personally, I don't like watches too plain. Hence, I was happy to add some palm trees on the strap to resonate with the clock face of a beach background.

Research.
Drawn.
This was my final product.
I did not know she designed a taylor swift themed watch for me too.

With a note..

I am really impressed with Aileen's design. I once worked in a watch shop for few months and I feel that this design is unique yet feasible for a real watch. This is the most detailed watch I have seen with the idea of fumbled numbers.
I like how in one glance, you would know whom Jalon watch is designed for. The smirk really captured Suttikit, our classmate "essence" and he incorporates thailand specialities inside the watch which I feel important as a designer.

Futuristic fashion

During one of the creative thinking lessons, we were given a hard task to design something for the future, be it uniform, furniture etc..
We decided to do furistic uniform.
We first picked out the doll that we wanted as our model..

We thought of using aluminum as our material and wrapped Elmo around it. As our idea got more distant and distant away from the actual prototype... We just settled it as a typical uniform for everyone In the future  and added wings on the shoes to make them fly and hover on the sky as they want.
We started experimenting with different accessories..

During the presentation, there were many interesting ideas presented...

When we finished our presentation..

One last shot for our special project..

Roses roses~

Recently, I have been very amazed with an online label; mintlondon
They are a outlet based overseas and focused on dreamy and young women's outfits.
What's different from their label compared to others, they use articulated flowers and incorporate it to their clothing beautifully, be it bralettes, skirts, dresses.
Hence, I have designed two outfits inspired by this specific label.

1. This outfit focuses more on young and sporty dressing because of the mini skirt.
The accessories for this piece are more cheeky and cute example are acrylics pink necklace shaped like roses.

As I mentioned, their specialty are incorporating roses in bralettes to give a dreamy teenage girl feeling.
Unlike othe mini skirts, I felt their skirt flared more to the side. Use of colors will be pastel colors to enforce the target audience they want to present to.

Outfit 2:
This is slightly different from the first outfit. The first one's more playful while the second is more feminine and again focus on one of my favorite effects - a play on materials.
I experimented with the skirt. I was imagining a normal skirt with a extra layer of satin like material that holds these 3D roses. Hence, unlike other designs, they are not glued together and gives a different approach from their normal designs.

What's the best accessory for this outfit? A cute small sling pouch enought to store your valuables. And what's better than to decorate it with... Many red roses to match with this flowery outfit.

Retro

Over the years, many fashion styles has appeared but mom's overalls or grandma chiffon scarf never seems out of date.
I feel that the retro style is very hard to carry out and one must have the charms to do so.
With this theme in mind, I designed two different outfits with this theme in mind.
The similarities of these two outfits that both are high waisted, emphasizing on the slenderness of the waist and lengthening the legs.
They are also designed with comfort in mind. Hence, the designs are very flown and make of material like chiffon etc to accentuate this feel.
Design 1: classical working style good for  a day in town or at work

While I was designing the shirt , the commonly seen sheer white chiffon shirt was on my mind. It helps give the modern feel to this retro outfit. A statement necklace is also needed to make the outfit more suitable for work and shopping.

Mid waist skirts has slowly been coming back to trend. A ribbon tied on the waist give it a European feel . The color scheme of this outfit should be pastel. I purposely designed two layers for this skirt to give it a more elegant look.

Classic court shoes helps end this fun yet professional look.
Bandana is a must when talking about a retro look. The color schemes for this outfit can either be bright cheery colors like yellow or dark colors like royal blue or black, depending on your occasion, a day out as a tourist  or just walking around the beach.
This kind of collars are common for retro outfits while the gauze is very popular for women nowadays.
The high waisted top help balance the huge  retro pants at the bottom , enhancing the comfort and the flowy effect of the pants.
Popular in the olden days
A pair of stilettos to finish off for a perfect day shopping at the countryside or tourists spots!

Spaghetti tower

We came into class and was given a task to stack up the highest and most stable tower with certain amount of raw spaghetti and a blue tack .
Being given similar tasks before in secondary school, I was confident but soon realised it was very different from when I was given a mass of chopsticks and masking tape.
Raw spaghetti were fragile which could be a advantage or disadvantage depending on how we use it.
We first came up with a sketch and use the famous Eiffel towel as reference.
      Known as spaghetti tower

We double make sure to test it's stability while we were working as the base is most important. Same concept goes to architecture.
We decided it was best to point all spaghetti to a focus point. We didn't have much left too.

Close up of the top

I think the most interesting twist to this normal teamwork game was that we have to stand on top of a chair and try to eat it
End with a good group picture!
